| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Advertising ID, device and app info, coarse location derived from IP | Whenever ads are shown | To serve and measure ads, and to limit how often you see the same one. Collected by Google AdMob, not by us. |
| An anonymous account identifier | On first launch, if the network is available | So a score can be attributed to “you” on the leaderboard without asking for any personal detail. |
| Chosen display name and best score | When a score is published | To show the global ranking. This is the only data that is publicly readable. |
| Email address and Google profile name | Only if you choose to sign in with Google | To recognise your account across devices and after a reinstall. Stored privately — see below. |
| Which of our apps you have signed into, and when each was last used | Only if you sign in with Google | So one account works across our apps, and to count how many people use them. Stored privately with your profile, never published. |
| Game history: score, stage, difficulty, duration and time of each run | When a game ends | To show you your own past games. Kept on your device; also backed up to your account if you are signed in. |
| How you use the app: screens opened, games started and finished, session length, and general device information such as model, operating system version and country | Whenever you play | To understand which parts of the game people actually use and where they stop playing, so it can be improved. Collected by Google Analytics for Firebase, and tied to a random app instance identifier rather than to you. |
| Purchase status of the ad-free upgrade | If you buy it | To stop showing ads. Handled by Google Play Billing; we never see your payment details. |
The leaderboard collection is world-readable — that is what makes a global ranking possible — and it contains only a display name, a score, and the time that score was set. Your email address, profile name and game history live in a separate area that security rules restrict to your account alone. No other player, and no anonymous visitor, can read them.
Ads are provided by Google AdMob. Google’s handling of that data is described in the Google Privacy & Terms.
Before any personalised ad is requested, Tessera shows a consent prompt and respects the choice you make. The same choice governs the usage statistics described above: decline, and analytics collection is switched off at the source rather than merely unreported. Choosing not to consent does not remove ads; it limits them to non-personalised ones, which do not use your advertising ID to build a profile. You can reopen the prompt at any time from the app to change your mind, and you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android’s Settings under Privacy → Ads.
Buying the ad-free upgrade stops ad requests altogether.
